Your friendly guide in Vienna
"Hi, I am Andrei Zolotov and I would be happy to be your personal guide"
I fell in love with Vienna
My name is Andrei Zolotov Jr. I am a music, theater and art critic as well as a licensed Austrian tour guide and a licensed Viennese taxi driver.
Some 25 years ago I was an international reporter, who came to Vienna on a week-long study tour, fell in love with this city and began to visit it often – to wander around, go to the opera and concerts, join excursions. In 2013 I moved here as a news reporter. But I liked so much to take my guests around Vienna in my free time, to share my love and knowledge of this magnificent city, that I decided to turn this hobby into a new profession. I took the tour guide courses, passed the apparently horrifying exams and began to work as a guide.
This is what I have been doing with great pleasure for the past several years, while continuing to study this wonderful country – Austria. I left news journalism behind but keep writing about the arts.
I take tours in English and Russian. Parallel to that I got yet another license – that of a taxi driver. So now, if the tourist group does not exceed 4 persons, I can drive it around to see Austria’s beauty in my taxi. For up to 8 people, I can rent a minivan.

Let me show you the vast history and beauty of Austria as your personal Guide

At your service!
So write, call or message me – we will discuss an individual plan for you, your family or your group. Sometimes it is just one overview tour.
Sometimes – an extended and intellectually demanding yet enjoyable program of museums, exhibitions, opera performances, outstanding landmarks in faraway districts of Vienna, imposing castles, centuries-old monasteries, beautiful lakes and superb wineries throughout Austria and into the neighboring countries.
Sometimes it is something inbetween – a program of two or three tours.
Need a recommendation?
I will gladly recommend to you operas, concerts and summer festivals that would be worth your attention, help you buy tickets and offer, if necessary, an introductory lecture before the performance.
I have some experience in organizing exclusive programs, when otherwise closed doors are open for the guests to organize a special concert of celebration in a palace.
Meanwhile, thanks to the taxi driver’s license, I have a unique offer called “Long stopover in Vienna”: when you stop over in Vienna just for several hours between the flights, I can meet you at the airport, prepare a special program just for the time you have, and bring you back to the airport, so that you catch your next flight.
